There are few beings in all of Wonderland who adore its exclusive and extravagantly peculiar sweets quite as passionately as the Red Queen Empusa. Alas! Her temper—already balanced rather precariously atop a velvet cushion—tips most alarmingly whenever news arrives that her prized, size-altering delicacies have slipped past the Doormouse (who is, as his name insists, both a door and a mouse) and tumbled headlong into the dreadful realm of Niflheim.

With dramatic flourish and royal impatience, she commands her ever-flustered White Rabbit to retrieve them at once. Yet his muddled sense of time—combined with the gleefully troublesome hijinks of Wonderland’s many mischief-makers—has driven Her Majesty to teacup-rattling exasperation.

Quite certain that the whole kerfuffle bears the pawprints of that irrepressible trouble-sprite Neko Alice, the Red Queen Empusa now sharpens her schemes to a positively wicked shine. Should her Rabbit fail (as rabbits in Wonderland so often do), she shall unleash her cherished Jabberwocky into Niflheim itself. The great green beast, she reasons, will either recover her wandering sweets or gobble up the culpable Neko Alice entirely—an outcome which, in her regal estimation, would be delightfully satisfactory either way.

For in Wonderland, few things thrill the Red Queen Empusa more than a tidy solution—except, of course, a fresh box of enchanted confections.
